P.L.A.Y is an acronym for, Participating in the Lives of Africa’s Youth.
“Footprints P.L.A.Y.” was birthed from the personal vision, passion and mentorship heart of Yolanda Zafi PhD to meet the needs of children in various circumstances. Yolanda and her two daughters, Sylvia and Kerry-Lee have dedicated their lives to Footprints P.L.A.Y, and ensure that the atmosphere within their home is one of family and healthy identity which is lived out daily. They are assisted by a dedicated team who voluntarily participate in this large joy filled, rainbow family.
Within the Footprints P.L.A.Y. family, we also provide a place of safety for children, which allows them to experience the love, care and security of a family life, whilst being educated and taught various life skills. The Footprints family are actively involved with external communities and play a part in the lives of disadvantaged youth. We are a family that spreads love, hope and opportunity to children who desire a successful future regardless of their circumstances.
In 2004, Footprints P.L.A.Y. became affiliated to Iris Global and has since become an Iris Global – South Africa Missions base. These two organizations share the same core values, vision and passion for children, community and the poor. Heidi Baker, together with her husband Rolland Baker have been instrumental in establishing children’s centers throughout Africa which has further encouraged Yolanda to continue to enlarge the vision for Footprints P.L.A.Y. within the South African borders.
“Footprints P.L.A.Y.” is BEE compliant, a public benefit organization, is registered as a non profit, is completely self-funded and does not receive grants from government. The organization is entirely reliant on donations.
